High quality antique French Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock By Le Forestier of PARIS C. 19th century.
This rare & beautiful figural clock is made in France around 1840's. Finely painted Sevrés Style porcelain plaque and top quality bronze cast set this clock apart. The clock also has a white porcelain dial with its original retailers mark with address in Paris . The gilt bronze figure of French lady with a hawk on her hand is crisply cast to very high standard.
Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright gilding and it complements the quality modelling of female figure in Oriental costume. Please see pictures.
The 8 day movement has the prestigious makers mark on the back plate LE FORESTIER of PARIS. It runs and strikes the hours and halves on a silvered bell. The clock working currently but due to age of the movement the shop doesn't guarantee its functionality.
The clock comes complete with pendulum, key and bell! A super looking clock ready to display in your home!
