Antique French Cherub Grape Picker Clock
A extra large and most beautiful rare model French figural gilt clock, depicting a Cherub Grape Picker. Perfect way to add old charm to your wine cellar or vineyard showroom. The modelling of this piece is exquisite, note the cherub's fine facial features and the beautiful delicate hair cast. The case produced and stamped at the back by the famous maker P.H. Mourey, an is of typically high quality. The base of the clock is decorated with floral swags and scrolls which are also very nicely modelled. Condition is excellent for its age, case has been cleaned and burnished with gilt wax. It is very rare to find clock of this XXL size in such a good condition and this particular model you probably will never see again.
It has an 8 day bell striking French movement of excellent quality stamped by famous clock maker "JAPY FRERES & CIE Medalle Dior 1855" that strikes on half and full hour counting the hours. The movement has been just serviced. It is fully working and comes with its original pendulum, silvered bell and key.
